Ultrasonic Sensors

Installed directly above each parking space, ultrasonic sensors generate high frequency sound waves that shoot downward. The sensor constantly evaluates the echo which is received back by the sensor. Ultrasonic sensors calculate the time interval between sending the signal and receiving the echo to determine whether there is a large object like a vehicle underneath. Installing these sensors takes the guess work out of finding open parking spaces and guarantees always-updated parking data. Additionally, batteries can last several years even while sound wave is sent out every 3 second for sensing occupancy.
